Janis Caldwell is an Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her Ph.D. from University of Washington, Seattle, and her M.D. in Medicine from Northwestern University Medical School. Her central research areas include Victorian literature, science and literature, medical humanities, and literature and the mind. She is invested in encouraging dialogue and collaborative research between the fields of humanities and science.
